Radio Mode Control Location and Operation




RADIO


1. AM/FM

Press the AM/FM button and "AM" or "FM" will appear on the display indicating the appropriate band being received.

2. ELECTRONIC TUNING TUNE

The arrow above the tuning button indicates that when this button is depressed the radio will tune up frequency. The opposite direction arrow can be used to tune down frequency.

3. STEREO

When a stereo station is received, the "ST" Indicator will light up on the display. It will flash when the signal strength diminishes.

4. AUTOMATIC LOCAL/ DISTANCE SWITCHING

New electronic circuitry automatically selects the local or distance mode for the best reception and eliminates the need for manual switching.

5. SIGNAL SEEK TUNING SEEK

On trips or when you wish to listen to other than one of your 10 preprogrammed stations, press one of the Seek buttons. The radio will automatically tune to, and lock onto the next station of sufficient strength. The arrows above the buttons indicate upscale and downscale.
6. SIGNAL SCAN TUNING

When the (on/off) volume control knob is pressed, scanning begins upscale from station to station, pausing seven seconds at each medium to strong frequency. If downscale scan is preferred, press TUNE before pressing the on/off volume knob. Scanning stops when the volume knob is pressed again during the seven second pause.

7. FM RECEPTION

FM reception will occasionally exhibit hissing and fluttering noises due to signal reflections or blockage by hills or tall buildings, FM signals strength diminishes rapidly after approximately 25 miles from the transmitter.

8. PROGRAMMING RADIO STATIONS

A. Tune in the desired radio station.
B. Push the desired preset station selection until an audible "beep" sounds indicating that the frequency has been memorized.
C. Repeat this procedure for the remaining preset station selectors on both the AM and FM bands.

9. PRESET STATION INDICATORS WITH LED

Each of the preset buttons has a built-in LED. When a preset button is pressed, the LED illuminates and indicates when preset station is being tuned in.

NOTE: The radio programming controls have dual functions. Each button can be set to one AM and one FM station.
