The digital display window is in the top center of the panel. It normally displays the time of day in either the 24-hour mode or 12-hour, AM and PM, time.

Left of the display window Is the AM/PM indicator. To the right is the Miles/Kilometer Switch.

If the switch is in the Km position, the clock is in the 24-hour mode and the AM/PM lights are not lit, distances are shown in Kilometers, temperatures are in degrees Centigrade, and fuel consumption is in litres per 100 kilometers.

In the Miles position, readings are in the English system: distances are in miles, temperatures are in degrees Fahrenheit, fuel consumption is in MPG, and clock displays 12-hour time. In this mode, a light-emitting diode indicating AM or PM will be lit.

Below the display panel is the keyboard. Each key has two functions: the title above the key is the primary function. The secondary function of each key is its numerical value. These numbers are used only when entering data into the computer. A function key, such as Distance, or Dist, must be pressed first, then the number(s).

There is one other important thing to remember about our On-Board Computer: it will not function at all unless the clock has been correctly programmed and is operating.
