Windshield Assembly Overview





1 Windshield

• Only windshields with a viewing area for the VIN are provided.

• On vehicles without a VIN in the viewing area, cover the area with glass and paint primer (D 009 200 02) from the inside of the window before installing it.

• Clean the area with cleaning solution (D 009 401 04).

• Apply the glass and paint primer (D 009 200 02) with an applicator (D 009 500 25) in one stroke over the entire viewing area.

• After drying 10 minutes, prime the surface completely again.

• Removing and installing => [ Windshield ] Windshield

• Dimension - b - = 3 mm

• Even out the distances to the A-pillars when installing

2 Adhesive sealing material

• Observe minimum curing time => [ Minimum curing times ] Flush-Bonded Windows

• Different distances to window edge:

• Dimension - a - = 19.5 mm

• Dimension - c - = 13.5 mm.

• Dimension - d - = 13.5 mm

3 Lower window frame

4 Cowl panel trim retaining strip

• Component of windshield

• No replacement part

• With a new windshield, remove the protective pipe before installing the cowl panel trim.

5 Cowl panel trim

• Insert in the retaining strip - item 4 -.

• Only press on as far as the stop after the minimum curing time for the adhesive has elapsed.

6 Upper window frame

7 Cover profile

• At the sides and top of the windshield

• Replace if reusing the undamaged windshield => [ Cover profile ] Windshield.

8 Side window frame

• To the left and right A-pillars

9 Sealing lip

• For the label with the VIN

10 Label

• With the VIN

11 Bracket

• For the label with the VIN

12 Adjusting wedge

• For securing the windshield during installation => [ Slide the adjusting wedges in at both places provided between the body and
retaining strip to keep the windshield at the same height. ] Windshield
