Rear Lines and Hoses Assembly Overview
1 Bolt
• 8 Nm
2 Reservoir
• Note installed position. Refer to => [ Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling ] Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling.
• Bleed the steering. Refer to => [ Steering System, Bleeding after Replacing ] Service and Repair.
• Check hydraulic fluid level. Refer to => [ Power Steering, Checking Fluid Level ] Power Steering, Checking Fluid Level.
• Steering system, checking for leaks. Refer to => [ Steering System, Checking for Leaks ] Steering System, Checking For Leaks.
3 Cap with Dip Stick
• Check hydraulic fluid level. Refer to => [ Power Steering, Checking Fluid Level ] Power Steering, Checking Fluid Level.
4 Bolt
• 8 Nm
5 Bracket with Tensioning Strap
• Secure to body. Refer to => [ Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling ] Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling.
6 Nut
• 8 Nm
7 Bracket
• Secured to the top left of the engine.
8 Intake Hose
• From the reservoir to the power steering pump.
• Note location on reservoir. Refer to => [ Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling ] Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling.
• Note the power steering pump location. Refer to => [ Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling ] Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling.
• Installation on the engine and transmission, refer to => [ Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling ] Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling.
9 Spring Clamp
• Remove and install with Spring Type Clip Pliers (VAS 5024 A).
10 Nut
• 8 Nm
11 Bracket
• Secured on the transmission.
12 Bolt
• 8 Nm
13 Bracket
14 Banjo Bolt
• Always replace after removal.
• 50 Nm
15 Seal
• Always replace after removal.
16 Clamp
• Tension with the hose clamp pliers (V.A.G 1275) or locking pliers (VAS 6199).
• Always replace after removal.
17 Pressure Line, Rear Section
• From the power steering pump to the power steering gear.
• Note the installation location on the threaded connection. Refer to => [ Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling ] Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling.
• Installation location on the body, refer to => [ Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling ] Rear Lines and Hoses, Assembling.

• 40 Nm
21 Power Steering Pump
• Fill with hydraulic oil before installation.
• Checking delivery pressure. Refer to => [ Checking the Delivery Pressure of the Power Steering Pump ] Testing and Inspection.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Power Steering Pump ] Power Steering Pump.
• Bleed the steering. Refer to => [ Steering System, Bleeding after Replacing ] Service and Repair.
• Check hydraulic fluid level. Refer to => [ Power Steering, Checking Fluid Level ] Power Steering, Checking Fluid Level.
• Steering system, checking for leaks, refer to => [ Steering System, Checking for Leaks ] Steering System, Checking For Leaks.

24 Pressure Line, Center Section
• From the power steering pump to the power steering gear.

26 Pressure Line, Front Section
• From the power steering pump to the power steering gear.

• From the power steering gear to the hydraulic oil cooler.

• From the power steering gear to the hydraulic oil cooler.
