Engine Oil, Initial Filling
Procedure
If a new, serviced or replacement engine without any oil was installed, the engine oil must be filled as follows:
- Add 7 liters of engine oil to the oil tank.
- Remove the dipstick, wipe it off with a clean cloth and slide it back in as far as the stop.
- Remove the oil dipstick and check the oil level.
• After the first engine start, the oil level will be approximately at the upper edge of the "Do not fill" field - arrow 3 -.
- Start the engine and let it run at idle for 30 seconds.
- Shut off engine.
- Remove the dipstick, wipe it off with a clean cloth and slide it back in as far as the stop.
- Remove the oil dipstick and check the oil level.
• The engine oil level will be 15 to 20 mm below the lower edge of the " fill" field - arrow 4 -.
- With the engine still, add 2.5 to 3 liters of oil to the oil tank.
- Remove the dipstick, wipe it off with a clean cloth and slide it back in as far as the stop.
- Remove the oil dipstick and check the oil level again.
