Service Line

Removing





CAUTION!
The service line may be removed only when the refrigerant circuit is empty.

- Remove the bolts - 1 and 2 - and the refrigerant lines from the A/C compressor, refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting from Compressor and Connecting ].

CAUTION!
Risk of damaging refrigerant lines and hoses.

Do not stretch, kink or bend refrigerant lines and hoses.

- Close all open lines and connections on A/C compressor with suitable caps (avoid dirt and moisture from entering the system).

- Disconnect the connector - B -.





Ignore - A -.

- Remove the screws - 1 and 2 -, remove the Service Line upward and free up the wiring harness - arrows -.





In order to make the service connections accessible, the left service flap (for the A/C system) in the Audi R8 Spyder must be removed from the engine compartment trim of the compartment cover.

In order to remove the service line, the engine compartment trim of the compartment cover must be removed on the Audi R8 Spyder.

Installing





Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:

- Replace the O-ring - 4 -.

- Install the service line - 2 - and secure the wire - 6 - with cable ties - 3 -.

- Install the service line into each connection.

- Tighten the bolts - 1 and 5 -.

Tightening specification: 9 Nm.

- Install refrigerant lines on the A/C compressor, refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting from Compressor and Connecting ].

- Evacuate and fill refrigerant circuit.

After finishing the repairs, perform the following work on the Climatronic Control Module (J255) using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Check the DTC memory and erase any malfunctions shown.

- Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit, refer to => [ Operating After Filling Refrigerant Circuit ] Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning.
