1 O-Ring Seals

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

2 Refrigerant Line

Connecting line between condenser 1 (left) and condenser 2 (right).

3 Screws

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

4 Refrigerant Line

To the evaporator.

5 Condenser 2

Right side of vehicle.

Refrigerant line, disconnecting and reconnecting, refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting from Condenser and Connecting ] Refrigerant Circuit.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Condensers, Left and Right ] Refrigerant Circuit.

6 Screws

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

7 Bracket

For the refrigerant line.

8 Refrigerant Line

To the evaporator.

9 Union Nut

Tightening specification 15 Nm.

10 O-ring Seal

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

11 Restrictor

Replace.

12 O-ring Seal

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

13 Refrigerant Line

From the A/C compressor.

14 Bracket

For the refrigerant line.

15 Screws

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

16 A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor (G395)

Housing color: gray

Removing and installing, refer to => [ A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor ] Service and Repair.

17 Condenser 1

Left side of vehicle.

Refrigerant line, disconnecting and reconnecting, refer to => [ Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting from Condenser and Connecting ] Refrigerant Circuit.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Condensers, Left and Right ] Refrigerant Circuit.

18 O-ring Seals

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

19 Screws

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

20 Refrigerant Line

Connecting line between condenser 1 (left) and condenser 2 (right).

21 Refrigerant Line

From the A/C compressor.

22 Refrigerant Line

Connecting line between condenser 1 (left) and condenser 2 (right).

23 Cable Ties

Component Group II - Body Front





1 Refrigerant Lines

From the A/C compressor to condenser 1 (left).

2 Screw

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

3 O-ring Seal

For the refrigerant lines.

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

4 Screw

Tightening specification 9 Nm

5 Refrigerant Line

From condenser 2 (right) to the evaporator.

6 Refrigerant Line

From the A/C compressor to condenser 1 (left).

7 Screw

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

8 Refrigerant Line

From condenser 2 (right) to the evaporator.

9 Refrigerant Line

11 Retaining Clamp

From condenser 2 (right) to the evaporator.

14 Coolant Line Connections

From the engine to the A/C unit.

With a supply line to the left heat exchanger, supply line to the right heat exchanger and a central return line.

In the passenger compartment over the center tunnel.

15 O-ring Seals

For the coolant pipes.

Replace.

16 Coolant Line Connections

From the heat exchanger to the engine.

17 Refrigerant Line

Supply from condenser 2 (right) to the evaporator.

In the passenger compartment over the center tunnel.

18 Refrigerant Line

Return from evaporator to the reservoir.

In the passenger compartment over the center tunnel.

19 O-ring Seals

For the refrigerant lines.

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

20 Refrigerant Line

Return from evaporator to the reservoir.

In the passenger compartment over the center tunnel.

21 Screw

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

22 Refrigerant Line

Supply from condenser 2 (right) to the evaporator.

In the passenger compartment over the center tunnel.

23 Refrigerant Line

Return from evaporator to the reservoir.

In the center tunnel.

24 O-ring Seal

For the refrigerant lines

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

25 Screw

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

26 Refrigerant Line

Return from evaporator to the reservoir

in the center tunnel

27 O-ring Seal

For the refrigerant lines

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

28 Refrigerant Line

Supply from condenser 2 (right) to the evaporator

In the center tunnel to the passenger compartment

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

Rear refrigerant line connection locations for vehicles with a V10 engine.

Rear Refrigerant Line Connection Locations For Vehicles With a V10 Engine





A Refrigerant line - from the A/C compressor to condenser 1 (left)
B O-ring - replace; lightly coat with refrigerant oil before installing.
C Refrigerant line bracket
D Refrigerant line - from the A/C compressor to condenser 1 (left)
E Cable ties
F Screw - 9 Nm
G Refrigerant line - from the evaporator to the reservoir
H O-ring - replace; lightly coat with refrigerant oil before installing.
J Refrigerant line - from the evaporator to the reservoir
K Nut - 9 Nm
L Screw - 9 Nm

Component Group IV - Engine Compartment





1 Screw

Tightening specification 25 Nm.

2 Refrigerant Line

From the reservoir to the A/C compressor.

3 O-ring Seal

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

4 A/C Compressor

V8 engine, removing and installing, refer to => [ Compressor ] Compressors. Vehicles with V10 engine, refer to => [ Compressor ] Compressors.

5 Refrigerant Line

From the A/C compressor to condenser 1 (left).

With a branch to the high pressure side service connection.

6 Screw

Tightening specification 22 Nm.

7 High Pressure Side Service Connection

Different versions (with primary sealing valve or with Schrader valve) depending on refrigerant line, distinguishing characteristics.

To remove and install the service connection or the valve insert with the refrigerant circuit empty, use, for example, an adapter from the Socket for A/C Valves (T10364).

CAUTION!
Only remove service connections when the refrigerant circuit is empty. The connection does not have a valve.

Installation location => [ (Item 4) High Pressure Side Service Connection ] Components Outside Passenger Compartment.

In order to make the service connections accessible, the left service flap (for the A/C system) in the Audi R8 Spyder must be removed from the engine compartment trim of the compartment cover.

In order to remove the service line, the engine compartment trim of the compartment cover must be removed on the Audi R8 Spyder.

8 O-ring Seal

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

9 Screw

Tightening specification 25 Nm.

10 Reservoir

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Reservoir ] Refrigerant Circuit.

11 O-ring Seal

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

12 Refrigerant Line

From the reservoir to the A/C compressor.

13 Screw

Tightening specification 9 Nm.

14 Screw

Tightening specification 9 Nm

15 Refrigerant Line

From the evaporator to the reservoir.

16 Low Pressure Side Service Connection

Different versions (with primary sealing valve or with Schrader valve) depending on refrigerant line, distinguishing characteristics.

18 O-ring Seal

Replace.

Lubricate lightly with refrigerant oil before installing.

Service Line For V10 Vehicles

6. Electrical wire to the A/C Compressor Regulator Valve (N280)

CAUTION!
The service line may be removed only when the refrigerant circuit is empty.
