Rear Brakes Assembly Overview, with Ceramic Brakes
• Always install complete repair set.
• After replacing brake pads, depress brake pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
• When siphoning brake fluid, always use a bleeder bottle that is used exclusively for brake fluid. Brake fluid is poisonous. NEVER siphon brake fluid with your mouth!
1 Parking Brake Caliper Bolt
• 55 Nm
• Replace each time it is removed.
2 Parking Brake Caliper
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Parking Brake Caliper ] Parking Brake Caliper.
3 Brake Shield
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Shield ] Rear Brakes, With Ceramic Brakes.
• Remove the wheel hub before removing the brake shield.
4 Cover Plate Bolt
• 9 Nm
• Replace each time it is removed.
5 Bolt
• 9 Nm
• Replace each time it is removed.
6 Brake Disc
• To remove, first remove the brake caliper and parking brake caliper.
• Wear limit, refer to => [ Brakes ] Brakes.
• Must always be replaced together on both sides of vehicle.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Disc ] Rear Brakes, With Ceramic Brakes.
• Replacing, refer to => [ Brake Disc, Replacing ] Rear Brakes, With Ceramic Brakes.
• Coat contact surfaces between brake disc and wheel hub with Polycarbamide grease.
CAUTION!
Handle the brake disc with care. Replace a damaged brake disc.
Do not hit the brake disc with force to remove it from the wheel hub.
7 Brake Caliper Housing
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Caliper ] Rear Brakes, With Ceramic Brakes.
• Replacing, refer to => [ Brake Caliper, Replacing ] Rear Brakes, With Ceramic Brakes.
• When doing work, do not allow to hang from brake hose, rather suspend it from the body using bundling wire.
• Hose must be installed free of twists.
• No further repairs may be performed on the brake caliper.
• Brake allocation, refer to => [ Brakes ] Brakes.
• No repairs may be performed on the brake caliper.
8 Bracket for Brake Hose
• Bolt to brake caliper housing.
• Engaging the brake hose.
9 Bracket Bolt
• 9 Nm
• Brake hose bracket to the brake caliper and suspension.
10 Brake Caliper Bolt
• 110 Nm
• Replace each time it is removed.
11 Upper Guide Pins
12 Lower Guide Pins
13 Retaining Spring
• Ensure installation position is correct.
• Engage on both brake pad guide pins.
14 Brake Pads
• Wear limit, refer to => [ Brakes ] Brakes.
CAUTION!
There are two brake pads installed per side. Only the inner brake pad in the right brake caliper with a connection for the brake pad wear indicator.
• The brake pad backing plates are equipped with an adhesive film. Peel off the protective foil before installing.
• Must always be replaced together on both sides of vehicle.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Brake Pads ] Rear Brakes, With Ceramic Brakes.
• Before installing new brake pads, thoroughly clean the brake calipers of contaminants (grease-free). When doing so, pay particular attention to removing any remaining adhesive foil on outer brake pad contact surfaces.
15 Brake Hose in Brake Caliper
• Install in the brake caliper.
• Engaging the brake hose.
• Brake hose in brake caliper 12 Nm.
• Brake pressure line to brake hose: 16 Nm.
