Entry Assistance Release Cables, Adjusting
CAUTION!
Ensure backrest is engaged (zero position), otherwise it can tip forward uncontrolled.
• Cover and upholstery removed. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover and Upholstery ] Seat Covers and Upholstery.
• The left and right release cables are installed. Refer to => [ Left and Right Release Cable ] All Seats.
Pins (release pins) - 2 - are in locked position on both sides (delivery position, that means - lower basic position).
• Disregard item - 1 -.
- Bring the lever - 1 - to a distance of - a - = 3 mm from the edge of the opening - arrow - on the backrest - 2 -.
- Adjust left and right release cables - 1 - and - 2 - at release cable adjusters - 4 -.
• Right release cable adjuster not shown in the illustration for overview purposes.
- To adjust, turn the upper part - arrow A - and lower part - arrow B - of the release cable adjuster against each other.
- Adjust the release adjuster so the release cable is free of tension and loose.
• Proceed the same way with the release cable that is not pictured.
• When adjusting the release cable, do not pull on release pins - 2 -.
- After adjusting release cables, check function of backrest lock.
- When the lever - 1 - is pressed, the backrest - 2 - must be released - a - at a distance of = 9 mm to the edge of the opening - arrow -.
- If it does not release or only releases partially, check release cable routing or repeat adjustment.
