Rollover Protection Crossbrace Connection
Removal
CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for the rollover protection. Refer to => [ Rollover Protection Additional Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.
- Remove the rear bulkhead end trim. Refer to => [ Rear Bulkhead End Trim ] Interior Trim.
- Removing the front cover for control modules. Refer to => [ Front Cover for Control Modules ] Front Cover For Control Modules
- Unscrew the screws - arrows - for mounting bracket - 1 - with the base mount on the crossbrace.
- On the bottom of crossbrace - 1 -, unscrew screws - 2 through 6 - for top cover - 7 - for control modules.
- Unclip and expose the electrical wires on the crossbrace.
- Unscrew screws - 2 - on the left and right of the crossbrace. Remove the belt guide.
- Unscrew nuts - 5 - on the left and right of bracket - 6 - for the crossbrace.
- Unscrew screws - 3, 4, 7 - on the left and right of the crossbrace bracket. Remove the bracket.
- Remove screws - 1 - on the left and right. Remove the crossbrace.
Installation
CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for the rollover protection. Refer to => [ Rollover Protection Additional Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:
- Installing the bottom belt guide, refer to => [ Three-Point Seat Belt with Belt Tensioner ] Service and Repair.
CAUTION!
Make sure no one is standing near the rollover protection when reconnecting the battery. Stand at least 1 meter away.
- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.
- ALWAYS perform an output diagnostic test under "Guided Functions " after repairing the rollover protection and only after all work procedures are completed (also if a new rollover protection was installed).
