Rollover Bar Guide






Rollover Bar Guide

Removal and installation are same for right and left.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

(VAS 5051B).





Removal

CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for the rollover protection. Refer to => [ Rollover Protection Additional Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.

- Perform an output diagnostic test under "Guided Functions ".

The rollover bars are extended.

- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

- Release retaining hooks - 1, 2 - with a small screwdriver and remove guide - 3 - for the rollover bar downward - arrow -.





Installation

CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for the rollover protection. Refer to => [ Rollover Protection Additional Safety Precautions ] Service Precautions.

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Press on the rollover protection guide back on until it engages audibly.

- Return a deployed rollover protection back into it stored position. Refer to => [ Deployed Rollover Protection, Returning to Stored Position ] Procedures.

CAUTION!
Make sure no one is standing near the rollover protection when reconnecting the battery. Stand at least 1 meter away.

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.

- ALWAYS perform an output diagnostic test under "Guided Functions " after repairing the rollover protection and only after all work procedures are completed (also if a new rollover protection was installed).
