Front Suspension

Mounting Bracket

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)

• Torque wrench (40-200 Nm) (VAG 1332)

Removing

- Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels.

- Remove the air spring damper. Refer to => [ Air Spring Damper ] Air Spring Damper.

- Secure the air spring damper with protective covers in a vise.

- Remove the front and rear upper control arms. Refer to => [ Upper Control Arms ] Upper Control Arms.

- Remove the mounting bracket bolts - 1 - from the air spring damper.





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

- Install the mounting bracket and bolts - 1 - to the air spring damper. Tightening specification, see - item 4 - in => [ Mounting Bracket, Upper Control Arms and Air Spring Damper Assembly Overview ] Mounting Bracket, Upper Control Arms and Air Spring Damper Assembly Overview.





- Install the control arms, installed location. Refer to => [ Control Arm, Setting ] Upper Control Arms.

- Install the wheel and tighten.

- Lower the vehicle onto it wheels. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels.
