LATCH Bracket, Removing and Installing

Front LATCH "Lower Anchor and Tethers for Children" bracket, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Torque wrench V.A.G 1410

Remove seat:







- Remove upholstery from passenger seat, on standard seat; on electric seat; on Recaro seat.
- Remove bolts - 3 - (2x). Tightening torque: 7 Nm.
- Remove LATCH "Lower Anchor and Tethers for Children" bracket - 2 -.

- Torque wrench V.A.G 1331







1 - LATCH "Lower Anchor and Tethers for Children" bracket

Removal:
- Remove rear seat bench: Vehicles through 10.04, vehicles from 11.04.
- Remove bolts - 2 - (Qty. 2).

Installing:
- Installation is reverse of removal. Observe the following when doing so:
- When installing fixed rear seat backrest, slide securing tabs behind the LATCH "Lower Anchor and Tethers for Children" bracket - 1-.
- On some vehicles, when installing LATCH "Lower Anchor and Tethers for Children" bracket later, the securing tabs must be pressed flat in a vise to about 3 mm.
- When installing, ensure there is enough clearance to lap belt with retractor, rotate lap belt with retractor if necessary.

2 - Screws (4x)
- Tightening torque 30 Nm
