Driver Side Storage Compartment, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Special hook 3370







- Torque wrench V.A.G 1331







1 - Instrument panel cover
2 - Screw
- Tightening torque 9 Nm

3 - Screw
- Tightening torque 9 Nm

4 - Left support
- Only on vehicles with knee bolster

5 - Screws, (2x)
- Tightening torque 9 Nm

6 - Screw
- Tightening torque 9 Nm

7 - Right support
- Only on vehicles with knee bolster

8 - Screws, (2x)
- Tightening torque 9 Nm

9 - Driver-side storage compartment

Removal:
- Remove instrument panel cover - 1 -.
- Remove bolts - 2 - and - 8 -.
- Pull storage compartment at top of instrument panel back and remove.
- Unclip diagnostic socket.
- Disconnect electrical harness connector at footwell illumination and, if necessary, disconnect additional loudspeaker. Auxiliary speaker, removing

Installing:
- First engage drivers side storage compartment in guides at lower edge, then clip into top of instrument panel.







Removing right instrument panel cover

- Pull off right instrument panel cover - arrow - with hook for front end 3370.







Auxiliary speaker, removing

- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 -.
- Unthread bolt - 1 - and remove angle bracket - 3 - and additional speaker - 4 -.
