Condition
The fuel gauge needle is on "empty" or in "reserve", although the fuel tank has just been filled to capacity.
Supersedes TSB Group 90, number 05-03 dated August 31, 2005 due to software update. (2010149/2)
Technical Background
After filling the fuel tank to capacity the fuel gauge needle can stay in the empty or reserve area and or rise very slowly to full.
Production Solution
Improved instrument cluster software.
Service
Vehicles with Instrument Cluster (J285) SW level less than 0660
SW must be updated to 0660 (or higher)
^ Update the Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285), address word 17, via SVM using SVM Action Code: NA4F90MY02
Tip:
The SVM Process must be completed in it's entirety so the database receives the update confirmation response. A warranty claim may not be reimbursed if there is no confirmation response to support the Claim.

Tip:
Do not replace the instrument cluster.
