Base Support Cover And Bracket, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Torque wrench V.A.G 1783







1 - Base support cover
- Removal
- Remove lower instrument panel trim on drivers side.
- Remove instrument panel cover.
- Remove bar piece.
- Remove hood cable operating lever.
- Remove upper B-pillar trim.
- Remove lower B-pillar trim.
- Remove lower A-pillar trim
- Remove bolt - 8 -.
- Slide base support cover - 1 - upward until tabs - 7 - disengage from base support bracket recess - 4 -.
- Remove base support cover - 1 -.

- Installing
Installation takes in reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:
- Ensure tabs - 7 - engage correctly in base support bracket recess - 4 -.
2 - Spring clamp
3 - Driver-side storage compartment
4 - Base support bracket
- Removal
- Remove base support cover - 1 -
- Peel floor covering back in base support area.
- Remove nuts - 6 - (3x).
- Remove base support bracket - 4 -.
- Installing
Installation takes in reverse order of removal.
5 - Spring nut
6 - Nuts (3x)
- Tightening torque 3 Nm
7 - Tab
- joined firmly with base support cover
8 - Screw (3 Nm)
