Affected Vehicles
CONDITION
After installing or replacing the electric steering column (J527), a DTC (Steering column adjustment incorrect, sporadic) is stored in the electronic central electrics module (J519).
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
This unjustified entry is stored in J51 9 with software version < 0190 after the installation of a newer version - electric steering column. Root cause is the low current consumption of the regulator motors.
Tip: This DTC doesn't affect the function of the steering column adjustment.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
If it is determined that the software version of the electronic central electrics module is <0190, replace J519.
Tip: Ensure that an electronic central electrics module of at least SW Version 0190 is installed.
