Left coolant pipe, removing and installing

Special tools and equipment





^ Spring clip pliers VAG 1921

Removing
- Remove engine
- Lower engine/transmission assembly on workbench or trolley and secure in position with wooden blocks.

WARNING:
^ Engine transmission assembly must be secure to avoid risk of accident.
^ Never set down engine and transmission on sump or oil pan.






- Disconnect connector -1- at left engine mounting.
- Remove nut -2- and detach engine mounting.





- Remove bolts -1 -and -2-.

Note: Leave hose (arrow) connected to power steering to stop oil from escaping.





- Remove bolt (arrow) and dipstick guide tube at cylinder head and lift out.





- Remove bolts -1 -and -2-.
- Unfasten hose clamps (arrows) and remove right coolant pipe from coolant hoses.

Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Note:
^ Replace O-ring.
^ Secure all hose connections with standard hose clamps; Refer to Part Supplier

- Replace O-ring at dipstick guide tube and insert guide tube in hole in upper part of sump.
- Install engine.
