PTO chain, removing and installing
Removing
- Drain off engine oil.
- Remove engine.
- Separate engine/transmission assembly.
- Place engine on workbench or a firm surface and secure in position with wooden blocks.
WARNING:
^ Engine must be secure to avoid risk of accident
^ Do not set down engine on oil pan.
- Remove drive plate.
- Remove timing chain covers.
- Press chain tensioner guide rail in direction of (arrow) and set chain tensioner with 3.3 mm diameter drill bit item -1-.
Note: If PTO chain sprocket is to be removed, bolt must be loosened before removing chain.
- Make color mark to indicate direction of PTO chain.
- Screw out bolts -2- to -5- and detach chain tensioner.
- Detach PTO chain.
Installing
Install in reverse order, note the following:
Note: Replace bolts lightened by turning through a specified angle.
- Start by installing PTO chain.
- Starting from top, attach chain tensioner to engine.
- Install timing chain covers.
- Install drive plate.
- Bolt transmission to engine and install engine/transmission assembly.
