Right auxiliary radiator, removing and installing

Special tools and equipment





^ Drip tray VAG 1306

Removing
- Move lock carrier to service position; Refer to Body and Frame; Radiator Support, Service and Repair [1][2]Procedures

Note: Coolant drained off must be collected in a clean container for disposal/re-use.

WARNING: Hot vapor/hot coolant may escape when opening expansion tank. When opening the expansion tank, wear gloves and other appropriate protection. Cover the cap with a rag and open carefully to relieve pressure slowly

- Unscrew cap of coolant expansion tank.





- Open bleeder hose (arrow) at clip.
- Position drip tray VAG 1306 underneath engine.





- Remove drain plug (arrow) at thermostat housing and drain off coolant at engine.





- Detach coolant hoses -1 -and -2-.
- Remove bolts (arrows) and detach right auxiliary radiator.

Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Note: Secure aft hose connections with standard hose clamps; Refer to Part Supplier

- Install lock carrier with attachments.
Refer to Body and Frame; Radiator Support, Service and Repair [1][2]Procedures





- Allow stop for torque reaction support to settle on rubber buffer for torque reaction support and tighten bolts (arrows) to 28 Nm.
- Install front bumper.
- Fill with coolant.

Note: The entire coolant must be replaced following radiator replacement.

- Adjust headlights.
