Electrical/electronic components and installed locations






1. Transmission Control Module (TCM) - 1217
- Control module is checked electrically via On Board Diagnostic (OBD)

2. Hydraulic control module
- Valves are checked via On Board Diagnostic (OBD)

3. Cover for shift mechanism

4. Tiptronic Switch -F189
- Installation location: Integrated into the circuit board, which is located in the shift mechanism cover
- consists of 3 camshaft position sensors, which are activated by a magnet on the cross slide masking panel
- if malfunctions at the Tiptronic Switch occur, check first whether magnet at control slide masking panel is properly secured and replace masking panel if necessary. Circuit board must be replaced first after wiring test

5. Shift lock solenoid - N110
6. Data Link Connector (DLC)
7. Cruise Control Switch -E45
8. Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Relay-J226
9. Not installed

10. Transmission Range (TR) Selector Lever Display -Y6
- complete lighting of selected gear display indicates a simple malfunction
- blinking selected gear display indicates a critical failure
- no lighting in display points to a fault in wiring or a malfunctioning Transmission Range (TR) Selector Lever Display -Y6

11. Kick Down Switch -F8
- no mechanical switch, a positive value from Throttle Position (TP) Sensor -G79-/Sender -2-
- for accelerator pedal position--G185- is stored in the engine control module
- Signal transfer from engine control module to transmission control module via CAN-Bus

12. Brake light switch -F
