Body - Rear License Plate Fastener Replacement

66 Rear license plate, replacing damaged fasteners

Rear license plate fasteners broken, loose or fallen behind license plate holder / lens assembly.

Service

1. Remove rear license plate and license plate holder / lens assembly.

2. Carefully remove the four existing cage nuts.

3. Install license plate holder / lens assembly.

4. Install replacement license plate fasteners (Part No: N 909 460 01) into existing holes (Figure 1). Make sure the fasteners are flush with the license plate holder.

1. Install license plate using new screws Part No: N 909 457 01.

2. If a license plate trim plate is not installed along with the license plate, add an approximately 1 mm thick washer to the installation screws to prevent screws from bottoming out. Do not overtighten license plate screws.
