Valve Body Assembly

REMOVAL





- Loosen 8-point connector (arrow -1-) by turning bayonet lock counterclockwise.
- Disconnect connector from transmission.
- Loosen nut (arrow-2-).





- Remove drain plug -1- and drain ATF.
- Disconnect ATF filler tube -3- from ATF oil pan (where applicable).
- Detach bracket -2- for ATF line.
- Remove ATF oil pan mounting nuts with spacers (arrows), and remove ATF oil pan.





- Remove mounting bolts (arrows) and ATF strainer.





- Remove valve body mounting bolts (arrows).
- Remove valve body along with wiring harness.

INSTALLATION
- Install in reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
^ Always replace O-rings for the following components:
^ Drain plug for ATF oil pan
^ ATF filler tube, where applicable (lubricate new O-ring with ATF)
^ ATF strainer
^ Wiring harness

- When installing valve body:





- Selector slide (arrow) must be hooked into detent disc
- Multi-function transmission range switch must be in PARK
- Tighten valve body mounting bolts from the inside
- Always replace ATF oil pan gasket
- Before installing ATF oil pan, be sure that magnets for capturing metal particles are in place
- Refill transmission with ATF to specifications, refer to Checking/Filling ATF.
- Tightening torques
Valve body to transmission: 8 Nm (71 inch lb)
Oil strainer to valve body: 8 Nm (71 inch lb)
ATF oil pan to transmission: 6 Nm (53 inch lb)
Drain plug to ATF oil pan: 40 Nm (30 ft lb)
ATF filler tube to ATF oil pan (where applicable): 40 Nm (30 ft lb)
ATF filler tube to transmission (where applicable): 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
ATF line bracket to transmission: 8 Nm (71 inch lb)
Nuts retaining wiring harness to transmission: 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
