Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair






Before installing a transmission, always blow compressed air through the ATF cooler and the ATF lines to clean them, as follows:
- Install a length of hose onto line A, at location shown (arrow-2-)
Diameter approx. 18 mm (11/16 in.)
- Secure with hose clamp.
- Position other end of hose in suitable container.

WARNING: Wear eye protection.

- Using pistol-type air nozzle, blow continuous blast of air into line B. at location shown (arrow-1-)

WARNING: Pressure must NOT exceed 10 bar (145 psi)

- Stop delivery of air when no further oil is expelled from hose.
- Reposition hose extension onto line B (arrow -1-), secure, and repeat procedure.

After cleaning procedure:
- Replace O-ring.
- Observe specified tightening torques.
