Transceiver Installation
Transceiver (A6/S6, Sedan only)- attach multi-pin connector to transceiver ensuring fuse (arrow) is exposed.
- attach antenna cable to transceiver.
- place mounting bracket, P/N 4A5 862 371 A, over transceiver.
- mount transceiver and bracket so that connectors face forward and transceiver connector wiring points up.
- install mounting bracket securing screws (arrows) and tighten.
Transceiver, (Wagon only)
1. Transceiver
2. Transceiver Cover, (two pieces), part of kit P/N 4A0 051 4310 Note: illustration shows it as one piece.
3. Screw - 3 Nm (27 in.lb) (Qty 2) part of kit.
4. Transceiver Connector, equipped with vehicle.
5. Antenna Cable, equipped with vehicle.
^ Connects to transceiver.
6. Fuse holder with fuse, equipped with vehicle.
7. 6 mm Nut - 4.5 Nm (40 in.lb), available locally.
8. Serrated washer (Qty 2), available locally.
9. Washer (Qty 2), available locally.
10. Transceiver bracket, part of kit P/N 4A0 051 4310.
Transceiver (A6 Wagon only)
- Remove the left rear close out compartment panel.
- Locate the transceiver harness and the antenna cable in the bottom of the close out panel (arrow).
- slide cable and harness through the opening in the transceiver bracket
- install transceiver bracket part of kit, P/N 4A0 051 431C to the existing studs in the body.
- attach the two 6 mm washers, serrated washers and nuts, (available locally), to the bracket and tighten to 4.5 Nm (40 in lb).
- connect the transceiver harness and antenna cable to the transceiver.
- lock the two piece U channel transceiver bracket, part of kit P/N 4A0 051 431C and attach it to the transceiver with two sheet metal screws in the holes provided (arrow).
Caution
Each transceiver has its own electronic serial number (ESN). ALWAYS register new transceiver with the Cellular Telephone Company before placing a call.
