Evaporator Case: Service and Repair
WARNING! Automotive refrigerant containing CFC's is hazardous to the earth's atmosphere. To protect our environment, use an Underwriter's laboratory (UL) approved refrigerant recovery/recycling unit whenever discharging an A/C system.
CAUTION Be sure A/C refrigerant system is completely discharged before removing components.
- On models with airbag, disable airbag system. Service and Repair
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Discharge A/C refrigerant system. Service and Repair
- Remove glove compartment. Service and Repair
Evaporator:
- Remove retaining screws (4).
- Remove fresh air/recirculation flap.
- Remove refrigerant lines.
- Inlet: 16.0 Nm (12.0 ft lbs.)
- Outlet: 42.0 Nm (32.0 ft lbs.)
- Loosen all connections between vehicle and evaporator.
Evaporator:
- Remove evaporator assembly.
- Install in reverse order.
