Operational Test

(Fault code 4443)

Requirement:
^ engine coolant temperature maximum 30°C (86°F)

NOTE: If engine temperature exceeds 30°C (86°F), disconnect the coolant temperature sensor connector and re-connect it to a substitute sensor (which has been cooled down and jumper wire grounded).

Cold Start Valve:

- disconnect coil wire 4 from ignition distributor cap and connect to ground with jumper wire
- remove cold start valve and point nozzle into suitable container (leave electrical connector and fuel line connected)

WARNING: Fire hazard. Do not smoke or have anything in area that can ignite fuel.

- crank engine with starter for 10 seconds
- cold start valve should spray fuel for period shown on graph





- wipe off nozzle with clean rag
- check valve for leaks
- after one minute, valve should be dry and free of fuel

If valve is wet or leaking
- replace cold start valve
- repeat check
