Control Arm: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
2. Remove fasteners securing guide for wheel speed sensor wiring and remove guide.
3. Remove bolt at front attaching wheel bearing housing to trapezoidal arm.
4. Remove bolt at rear securing trapezoidal arm to wheel bearing housing.
5. Remove bolt attaching trapezoidal housing to crossmember.
6. Disconnect brake pressure regulator spring.
7. Remove nut at front support and pull trapezoidal arm out.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply suitable locking compound to bolts securing wheel bearing housing to trapezoidal arm.
b. Torque wheel speed sensor guide to arm fasteners to 7 ft.lbs.
c. Torque trapezoidal arm to wheel bearing housing bolts to 125 ft.lbs.
d. Torque trapezoidal arm to crossmember attaching bolt to 63 ft.lbs.
e. Torque trapezoidal arm to support attaching bolts to 44 ft.lbs.
