Models W/Girling Caliper
1. Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
Front Caliper Mounting:
2. Using open end wrench to hold guide pin head, remove lower caliper mounting bolt.
3. Swing caliper upward and lift brake pads from holder.
4. Install replace brake pads, and heat shield(s) if used, then swing caliper downward and install lower mounting bolt. Use an open end wrench to hold guide pin in position when tightening lower mounting bolt. Torque bolt to 35 Nm (26 ft lbs).
5. Depress brake pedal several times to position caliper piston and seat brake pads.
NOTE:
Disconnect brake hoses only when replacing or servicing calipers. When detaching but not removing brake calipers, do not remove hoses. Hang calipers on frame.

Models W/Girling Or Late Version Teves Caliper
CAUTION:
When re-using brake pads, mark to prevent changing inside to outside or from one caliper to another. Mixed pads can cause uneven braking.
1. Place wooden block between caliper piston and caliper housing, then apply air pressure to brake line bore to force piston from housing.
2. Remove piston seal from caliper piston bore using a plastic rod.
3. Slide dust cap onto piston, then lubricate piston and caliper piston bore with clean brake fluid.
4. Install piston seal into caliper bore and lubricate with clean brake fluid.
5. Install piston into caliper bore and insert inner lip of dust seal into groove on caliper.
6. Press caliper piston into caliper as far as possible, ensuring outer lip of dust cap slips into groove in piston.
