Rear Seat Belt Replacement

Rear Seat Belt

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Check the rear seat belts for damage Testing and Inspection, and replace them if necessary.

1. Remove the rear seat cushion Rear Seat Removal/Installation.

2. Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).





3. Remove these items:

- Quarter pillar trim Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Pillar Areas
- Rear side trim panel Rear Seat Removal/Installation

4. Remove the rear seat belt (A) and the retractor (B).

1. Remove the upper anchor bolt (C).

2. Remove the retractor mounting bolt (D), and the retractor bolt (E).





5. Install the seat belt and the retractor in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions Testing and Inspection.
- Assemble the washer, the collar, and the bushing on the upper anchor bolt as shown.
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the upper anchor bolt before reinstallation.
- Before installing the anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.






Center Seat Belt and Seat Belt Buckles

NOTE:

- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.
- Check the center seat belts for damage Testing and Inspection, and replace them if necessary.

1. Remove the rear seat cushion Rear Seat Removal/Installation.

2. Remove the center anchor bolts (A), then remove the right seat belt buckle (B), the center seat belt buckle (C), and the left seat belt buckle (D).






3. Remove the left rear seat-back Rear Seat Removal/Installation.

4. Remove the rear seat-back cover/pad Rear Seat-Back Cover Replacement.

5. Release the hooks (A), and remove the center seat belt upper cover (B).






6. Remove the screws and the center seat belt lower cover (A).






7. Remove the screws, then remove the rear center seat belt lid (A).






8. Remove the screw and release the hooks (A), by pulling the rear center seat belt protector (B), then remove it.






9. Remove the retractor mounting nut (A) and the retractor nut (B), then remove the center seat belt (C) and the retractor (D) from the seat-back frame.






10. If necessary, release the hooks (A) and pull the belt guide trim (B), then remove it.






11. Install the seat belt and the buckles in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions Testing and Inspection.
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the retractor mounting nut before reinstallation.
- Assemble the washer on the center anchor bolt as shown.
- Before installing the center anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.
- Tighten the nut and the bolts by hand first, then tighten to the specified torque.
