SRS Unit Replacement

Removal

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

2. Move the driver's and passenger's seats all way to the rear position.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

4. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure Procedures, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

5. Remove the driver 's center console trim Center Console Removal/Installation and the passenger's center console trim Center Console Removal/Installation.

6. Remove the two screws from the driver's side center console clip bracket (A), then remove the bracket.






7. Disconnect SRS unit connectors A (39P) and B (39P) from the SRS unit (C).

NOTE: The SRS unit connectors have lever locks. Release the locks before disconnecting the connectors Service and Repair.






8. Remove the TORX bolt (D) from driver's side, using a TORX T30 bit.

9. Remove the TORX bolts (A) from passenger's side, using a TORX T30 bit.






10. Remove the SRS unit (B) from the driver's side.

Installation

1. Install the SRS unit (A) with a new TORX bolts (B) using a TORX T30 bit.

NOTE: Be sure the SRS unit is sitting squarely against it's bracket before torquing the TORX bolt.






2. Install the new TORX bolt (A) using a TORX T30 bit.





3. Connect the SRS connectors (B) to the SRS unit (C); push them into position until they click and the lever locks are fully secured Service and Repair.

4. Install the driver's side center console clip bracket (A) with two screws.






5. Install the driver 's center console trim Center Console Removal/Installation and the passenger's center console trim Center Console Removal/Installation.

6. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure Procedures.

7. Make sure the SRS unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the SRS unit SRS Unit Update.

8. Do the ODS unit initialization ODS Unit Initialization.

9. Check the operation of the ODS unit with the HDS ODS Unit Operation Check.

10. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
