Trunk Lid Hinge Makes Noise

SYMPTOM

The trunk lid hinge makes noise when you open and close the trunk.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The rearview camera wire harness, routed along the right trunk lid hinge, makes the trunk lid hinge trim stick out. This causes the hinge trim to rub on the trunk side trim panel.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the right trunk lid hinge trim with an updated part.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Check to see if the right trunk lid hinge trim is rubbing on the trunk side trim panel.

Is the right trunk lid hinge trim rubbing on the trunk side trim panel?

Yes - Go to step 2.

No - This service bulletin does not apply. Look for other causes of the trunk lid hinge noise.

2. Replace the right trunk lid hinge trim:

^ Refer to page 20-95 of the 2009 TSX Service Manual, or

^ Online, enter keywords TRUNK TRIM, and select Interior Trim/Installation - Trunk Lid Hinge Trim from the list.
