XM Traffic/Weather and AcuraLink Messages Are Not Displayed, and Phone Number Features in the Navigation System Don't Work
SYMPTOM
The XM radio and the navigation display work normally, but one or more of these malfunctions occur:
^ XM Real-Time Traffic, XM Weather, and AcuraLink messages do not display.
^ The Phone Book Import feature does not work.
^ Point of Interest telephone numbers on the navigation display cannot be called.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The flash memory in the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) is faulty.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver).

Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone Office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
DIAGNOSIS
1. Do the AcuraLink self-diagnosis:
^ Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and accept the navigation system disclaimer.
^ Press the MAP/GUIDE, CANCEL, and MENU buttons simultaneously until the ~Select Diagnosis Items" screen comes on.
^ Select Detail Information & Setting on the navigation screen.
^ From the Detail Information & Setting screen, select XM (HIP).
^ From the XM (HIP) screen, select XM (HIP) System Link.
2. The XM (HIP) System Link screen shows the status of the XM system connections. Green blocks indicate the connections are OK; red blocks indicate connection problems.
Are all of the connection blocks red?
Yes - Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
No - This service bulletin does not apply. Continue
with normal troubleshooting procedures.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Replace the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver):
^ Refer to page 23-133 of the 2009 TSX Service Manual, or
^ Online, enter keywords XM UNIT, and select AcuraLink Control Unit (XM Receiver) Removal/Installation from the list.
NOTE:
Make sure you write down the serial number of the new control unit.
2. Call XM Satellite Radio at 800-852-9696 to update the client's account with the new control unit serial number.
3. Call Acura Client Services to reactivate the AcuraLink service.
4. Do the AcuraLink self-diagnosis, and make sure all XM system connections are OK (all blocks are green).
