SRS DTC Troubleshooting: 83-2x (x can be 0 thru 9 or A thru F)

DTC 83-2x ("x" can be 0 thru 9 or A thru F):No Signal From the Outer Side Front Passenger's Weight Sensor

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures and General Troubleshooting Information.

1. Check the front passenger's weight sensor connectors for loose or poor connections.

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.

4. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Is DTC 83-2x indicated?
YES - Replace the front passenger's weight sensor assembly, then clear the DTC.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
