SRS DTC Troubleshooting: 46-2x, 46-8x, 46-Bx (x can be 0 thru 9 or A thru F)

DTC 46-2x, 46-8x, 46-Bx ("x" can be 0 thru 9 or A thru F): Internal Failure of the Right Side Impact Sensor (second)

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures and General Troubleshooting Information.

1. Clear the DTC with the HDS. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.

3. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

Is DTC 46-2x, 46-8x, or 46-Bx indicated?
YES - Faulty right side impact sensor (second); replace the right side impact sensor (second), then clear the DTC. If the DTC is still present, replace the SRS unit.

NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
