Audio System - Display Shows Incorrect USB Numbers

USB Folder Number in Upper Display Is Wrong or Limited to Two Digits

SYMPTOM

The upper display shows only the last two digits of the USB folder number. For example, folder number 107 or 207 appears as 07.

PROBABLE CAUSE

There is a software problem with the audio unit.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the audio unit with a remanufactured unit.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

NOTE:

^ Interface Dial Removal/Installation

1. Eject any CDs from the audio unit.

2. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure.

3. Remove the center console panel.

4. Remove the driver's and passenger's front console covers.

5. Remove the driver's and the passenger's center trim.





6. Remove the two bolts and the four self-tapping screws securing the audio unit, then pull out the audio unit.

7. Disconnect the connectors, then remove the audio unit from the vehicle.

8. Remove the climate control unit from the audio unit (four self-tapping screws).

9. Remove the interface dial from the audio unit.





10. Remove the audio unit from the audio panel (six screws).

11. Attach the replacement audio unit to the original audio panel.

12. Reinstall the climate control unit and the interface dial.

13. Install the replacement audio unit in the reverse order of removal, and make sure all of the connectors are securely connected.

14. Install the driver's and the passenger's center trim. Make sure all of the clips are securely attached. Replace any damaged clips.

15. Install the driver's and the passenger's front console covers. Make sure all of the clips are securely attached. Replace any damaged clips.

16. Install the center console panel.

17. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

18. Give the client the new anti-theft code.
