VSA DTC Troubleshooting: 66

DTC 66: VSA Pressure Sensor (Inside of VSA Modulator-Control Unit)

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Clear the DTC with the HDS. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then turn it to ON (II) again.

4. Check for DTC s with the HDS.

Is DTC 64 indicated?
YES - Do the troubleshooting for DTC 64. VSA System

NO - Go to step 5.


5. Check the BRAKE PRESS in the VSA DATA LIST with the HDS without pressing the brake pedal.

Is there over 0.8 MP a or more?
YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Replace the VSA modulator-control unit. Service and Repair


6. Press the brake pedal until BRAKE SWITCH in the VSA DATA LIST is turned ON with the HDS.

7. Check the BRAKE PRESS in the VSA DATA LIST with the HDS.

Is there 0 MP a?
YES - Go to step 8.

NO - Check the brake pedal position switch. If necessary, replace the switch. Adjustments


8. Do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization. Programming and Relearning

9. Start the engine and press the brake pedal until BRAKE PRESS in the VSA DATA LIST is 15 MP a with the HDS.

10. Check for DTC s with the HDS.

Is DTC 66 indicated?
YES - Replace the VSA modulator-control unit. Service and Repair

NO - The system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures. Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview Check for loose terminals or poor connections.
