Navigation System DTC Troubleshooting: 2705
DTC 2705: HFL Diag
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first.

With AcuraLink
1. Clear the hard error code. How to Troubleshoot the Navigation System
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
3. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode
4. Check the System Links.
Is the XM (HIP) icon red?
YES - Go to DTC 2704 troubleshooting. 2704
NO - Go to step 5.
5. Go into the Diagnostic Menu, and select the Self-Diagnosis Mode in the Select Diagnosis Items menu. Navigation System Diagnostic Mode
6. Check the System Links.
Is the HFL icon red?
YES - Go to step 7.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
9. Check for HFL DTCs with the HDS.
Are there any HFL DTCs indicated?
YES - Do the HFL DTC troubleshooting.
NO - Go to step 10.
10. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
11. Disconnect the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector and AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P).
12. Check for continuity between the terminals of the HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector according to the table.
Is there continuity between any of the terminals?
YES - There is a short in the wire(s) between the HandsFreeLink control unit and the AcuraLink control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.
NO - Go to step 13.
13. Connect AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P) terminal No. 17 to body ground with a jumper wire.
14. Check for continuity between body ground and HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector terminals No. 6, No. 7, No. 20 and No. 21 individually.
Is there continuity?
YES - There is a short in the wire(s) between AcuraLink control unit connector A (32P) and HandsFreeLink control unit 28P connector.
NO - Replace the HandsFreeLink control unit. Service and Repair
