Rear Seat Belt Replacement

NOTE: Check the rear seat belts for damage, and replace them if necessary.

Rear Seat Belt
1. Remove the rear seat cushion.




2. Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).
3. Remove the rear seat-back.
4. Remove the C-pillar trim from both sides.
5. Remove the rear shelf.




6. Remove the retractor mounting ET screw (A) and the retractor bolt (B), then remove the rear seat belt (C) and retractor (D).
7. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply liquid thread lock to the anchor bolts before reinstallation.
- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions as described.
- Before installing the anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.

Center Seat Belt and Seat Belt Buckles

1. Remove the rear seat cushion.




2. Remove the center anchor bolts (A) then remove the seat belt buckles (B) and center seat belt buckle (C).




3. Release the lock washer (A) then remove the anchor bolt (B) spring washer (C), center seat belt (retractor anchor) , or center seat belt buckle (buckle anchor), and seat belt buckle (E).

NOTE: The retractor anchor is shown; the buckle anchor is similar.

4. Remove the rear seat-back.
5. Remove the C-pillar trim from both sides.
6. Remove the rear shelf.




7. Remove the retractor mounting ET screw (A) and the retractor bolt (B), then remove the rear seat belt (C) and retractor (D).




8. Remove the rear center seat belt protector (A).




9. Install the seat belt and buckles in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply liquid thread lock to the anchor bolts before reinstallation.
- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten to specification with a torque wrench.
- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions as described.
- Assemble the washers on the retractor bolt as shown.
- Before installing the center anchor bolt, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the center belt.
- Make sure the rear center ELR (emergency locking retractor) is pointing straight forward.
