Sportshift Indicator Circuit Troubleshooting
1. Raise the front of the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
2. Set the parking brake, and block both rear wheels securely.
3. Start the engine, and move the shift lever [D5] into the sequential sportshift mode position.








4. Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminals E4, E5, and E and body ground individually in all four sequential sportshift mode gear positions.
Does the voltage match the table?
YES-Replace the A/T shift indicator in the gauge assembly.
NO-Go to step 5.
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
6. Disconnect the E (12P) connector from the PCM.
7. Disconnect the gauge assembly A (30P) connector.





8. Check for continuity between PCM connector terminals E4, E5, and E6 and body ground individually.
Is there continuity?
YES-Repair short to ground in the wires between PCM connector terminals E4, E5, and E6 and the gauge assembly.
NO-Check for loose terminal fit in PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.
