Timing Belt: Testing and Inspection

TIMING BELT INSPECTION

1. Remove the left upper cover.
2. Remove the center bracket.





NOTE:
- Support the engine with a jack before removing the center bracket is removed.
- Make sure to place a cushion between the oil pan and the jack.
- Refer to "Engine Installation" when installing the center bracket.





3. Inspect the timing belt for cracks and oil or coolant soaking.

NOTE:
- Replace the belt if oil or coolant soaked.
- Remove any oil or solvent that gets on the belt.
