Heater Core: Service and Repair

1. Remove the heater unit.
2. Remove the mode control motor.




3. Remove the two self-tapping screws and the left heater duct.




4. Remove the self-tapping screw and the left air duct.




5. Remove the wire harness clips, and the mode control arm with a flat-tip screwdriver as shown. Remove the five self-tapping screws and the left side cover.




6. Remove the two self-tapping screws and the heater core cover, then pull out the heater core.

NOTE: Be careful not to bend the inlet and outlet pipes during heater core removal.

7. Install in the reverse order of removal. Make note of the following items.

^ Make sure that the mode control doors and linkage move smoothly without binding.
^ After reinstalling the mode control motor, make sure the mode control motor runs smoothly.
