Parking Brake Lining Break-In
Lining Surface Break-inCAUTION:
- Perform the lining surface break-in when replacing the shoes with new linings and/or new discs (drums).
- Check the number of parking brake pedal clicks. Adjust the pedal before breaking-in the lining surface.
WARNING: Do this operation in a safe area.
1. Park the vehicle on a firm, level surface.
2. Keep the parking brake release lever pulled up.
3. Press the parking brake pedal with 294 N (30 kgf, 66 lbs.) of pressure while you drive the vehicle at about 31 mph (50 km/h) for 400 m (1/4 mile).
4. Park the vehicle for 5 - 10 minutes to allow the drums to cool. Repeat step 3.
5. Check the parking brake pedal adjustment.
