Parking Brake Pedal: Testing and Inspection

1. Press the parking brake pedal with 294 N (30 kgf, 66 lbs.) of pressure to fully apply the parking brake. The parking brake pedal should be locked within the specified number of clicks.

If the number of pedal clicks is excessive, inspect the parking brake linings for wear. If the parking brake linings are not worn beyond the service limit, minor adjustments (1 - 2 clicks) can be made with the adjusting nut in the equalizer.

CAUTION: After replacing the linings, make sure you drive the vehicle for "break-in. purposes.
