Spring-Loaded Lock Connector With Built-In Short Contact

The driver's airbag ('95-98 models) and front passenger's airbag ('97-98 models) have a spring-loaded lock connector with a built-in short contact. When this connector is disconnected, the power terminal and the ground terminal in the airbag connector are automatically shorted.
