The Malfunction Indicator Lamp indicates Diagnostic Trouble Code 6: A problem in the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor circuit.
The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor is a temperature dependant resistor (thermistor). The resistance of the thermistor decreases as the engine coolant temperature increases as shown.
