Fig. 13 Transaxle Mount Bolt Removal:





1. Disable coded theft protection system as described under Accessories and Optional Equipment / Antitheft and Alarm Systems / Service and Repair.
2. Disarm airbag system as described under Air Bags and Seat Belts / Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems) / Airbag System Disarming.
3. Remove strut bar.
4. Drain transmission oil.
5. Remove control box, Fig. 13. Do not remove control box vacuum lines.
6. Disconnect switch electrical connectors.
7. Remove clutch hose bracket from rear engine hanger.
8. Remove exhaust pipes, then heat shield and bracket.
9. Remove shift and torque rods.
10. Disconnect oil pump pipe cooler hoses.
11. Remove release fork cover and clutch slave cylinder, ensuring not to bend pipe. Do not operate clutch once slave cylinder is removed.
12. Remove lower engine cover plate.
13. Remove exhaust pipe stay.
14. Remove transmission bracket, then loosen transaxle mount attaching nuts.
15. Remove secondary cover and 36 mm sealing bolt.
16. Position shifter in low gear to lock secondary gear.
17. Support transmission using suitable jack stands.
18. Remove transmission mounts.
19. Remove release fork from clutch release, then hang fork on clutch housing.
20. Remove transmission housing attaching bolts.
21. Pull transmission away from engine until clears mainshaft.
22. Remove engine stiffener.
23. Remove clutch cover attaching bolts.
24. Remove transmission attaching bolts and 26 mm shim.
25. Reverse procedure to install.
26. Restore coded theft protection system and rearm airbag.
