Adhesive-type Door Edge Guard Removal

PROBLEM

A portion of the door edge guard separates from the door.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Remove the loose door edge guard, then prepare the door for a new guard.

PROCEDURE

1. Starting with the loose portion of the door edge guard, pull the guard off the door.

2. Remove any remaining adhesive tape from the door with 3M Adhesive Remover.

3. Clean the door with soap and water to remove any adhesive remover residue.

4. Just prior to installing the new door edge guard, clean the edge of the door with isopropyl alcohol.

5. Install the new door edge guard as described in either the installation instructions or the October '89 issue of Service News.
