Subject: Security Systems Limited Warranty Extension
Dear Acura Service Manager:
Acura has extended the Security Systems Limited Warranty time and mileage limits.
Effective March 19, 1990, Security Systems distributed by Acura and installed by an authorized Acura Automobile Dealer prior to retail sale of the automobile are warranted for the duration of the new car warranty: 36 months or 36,000 miles.
Acura Security Systems installed by an authorized Acura Automobile Dealer after the retail sale are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles or the remainder of the New Car Limited Warranty, whichever is longer.
Acura Security Systems purchased from, but not installed by, an authorized Acura Automobile Dealer are warranted for 12 months from the purchase date.
Additionally, any Acura Security System sold and installed by an authorized Acura Automobile Dealer will be repaired or replaced, at Acurals option, without charge for parts or labor. If it is installed by someone other than an authorized Acura Automobile Dealer, the labor will not be reimbursed.
The provisions of this extension apply to both retail and wholesale customers.
Please post a copy of this letter, or Parts Information Bulletin # 90-0005, in a prominent location within your Parts and Service Departments.
